Attendance

Attendance

Children’s regular attendance to school and punctuality is vitally important to their progress and development not only academically but socially as well.

Our attendance mentor is Mrs L McCann who is supported in her role by our Havering Education Welfare Officer.

Please report all absences to school by 8:30am via attendance email address attendance@jamesoglethorpe.havering.sch.uk or by calling 01708 225202 and selecting option 1.

Please follow the NHS guidelines which is valuable information regarding typical child illnesses and how they should be treated.

For medical or dental appointments, written notice is required where these are unavoidable during school time.

if you do not inform us by 9:30am why your child is absent from school then we will call all contact numbers we have on our system to find out why they are not at school. On rare occasions we have to carry out home visits where all attempts have been made to contact to no avail. Therefore it is vital that you inform us of your child’s absence.

Please be aware all holidays are unauthorised and you maybe fined from the Local Authority.

Leave of absence request forms must be completed before the day of the first absence and the form can be found by following this link:
